Vista de la Vida is an inviting and unique Taos vacation rental in a sage-brush-setting retreat that offers seclusion, comfort, and the beauty of the high desert, "big sky mountain views".

Views: Outstanding in all directions! Taos Mountain , Sangre de Cristo Mountains , and the Pecos Wilderness peaks encircle Taos on three sides and are on immediate display from the house, with the Rio Grande gorge to the near west. The mesa is higher than Taos and offers a night view of the distant Taos lights and superb Milky Way, meteor, star gazing.

Rooms: two bedrooms; master bedroom and bath are self-contained, with door into living room, kitchen, and dining area; dining table for six; library, high ceilings with vigas; second bedroom and bath are on other side of house; adobe-walled portal and large main entryway.

Amenities/features: large windows facing views; two kivas; outside deck facing Taos Mountain and patio facing the lights of Taos, in the distance; Satellite TV with DVD player; radio/CD/tape player; washer/dryer; shades to keep the sunrise out when you sleep late; telephone; beautiful walk of about three-quarters of a mile takes you to the end of the privately-maintained gravel road.

Kitchen: fully-equipped with gas cook top and oven, blender, coffee maker and grinder, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, ice maker, ample dishes and cookware.

Bedding: queen bed in each of the two bedrooms; complete linens.

Baths: two baths, each with shower and deep tub; one tub is Jacuzzi; each bath is slate-tiled with a sky light.

Heating: radiant, in-floor, natural gas hot-water heat on zoned thermostats.

Policies: no smoking; maximum capacity is 4 adults and 2 children (2 children are allowed to sleep on the two large sofas).
